A few bits and pieces, some little illustrations I did for gifts and invitations, and a couple of in-progress things (including some sketches trying to capture the personalities of my two naughty cats, Ted and Mort).

Throwback Thursday II

Here's another oooooooooold bit of art, so old that I did it before I ever used a cintiq or had any idea what I was doing. It's based on an old photo that my Grandad gave me from his collection of black and white photographs, although it's not anyone that we knew. I've always wanted to redo this one in a more stylised way, along with a series of other aviator-themed portraits - one day!

Throwback Thursday!

Here's some old art that's been lurking on my other blogs, from a few years ago. It's interesting to see how my style has changed since I did these -  much less 'muddy' colouring, a lot more lineless-style art, and, I hope, slightly better anatomy...I think if anything, my style has gotten a lot simpler. But, I definitely still draw characters in a similar way, and I definitely still veer towards the same kind of subject matter.

Two of the images are fan pieces from Sir Terry Pratchett's 'Discworld' series, one is a series of illustrations that I did for the Bucks Free Press republishing of one of Sir Terry's short stories, and the other is an original character from a short story I never finished.
